Due to overwhelming worldwide demand, the new WeissCANNON Explosiv! is sold out in the USA and across the globe.  The manufacturer is producing more and we do not anticipate any future shortages, but the new run will not be complete until sometime in November.  It is likely it will not be re-stocked in the USA until sometime in December.

Please understand this is a new product that has sold infinitely faster than projected, creating a shortage.  The manufacturer is having to play catch-up to meet worldwide demand.  This is a situation that Americans are familiar with, especially with popular items around the holidays.  Remember how difficult it was to find a Wii last year because of supply and demand?  The same basic forces are at work here.

If you would like to be notified when the new batch of Explosiv! arrives, please send us an email message and we will be happy to accommodate.

Franks,

It has been a number of years since I hit with Excel.  At the time the Excel suffered from rapid tension loss and premature breakage.  It played well the first time out, but playing properties degraded.

In terms of similarities, the Explosiv! has the same plush feel as Excel.  The Excel may offer slightly more pop, though both are lively and comfortable.  One major difference is that the Explosiv! holds playing properties for a much longer period of time.  I think if the two were playtested side-by-side, the vast majority of playtesters would prefer the Explosiv!

Thank you for the quick reply. I have received two sets of Explosiv today and had one of my racquets strung immediately with Weiss Cannon Explosiv the other is freshly strung with Babolat Xcel 16. I will be testing this new setup tomorrow and I will be comparing it to Babolat Xcel 16 - 2008. (I am  using  two identical racquets strung at the same tension). Again, thank you for the quick reply.
